Two People Stole an Old Lady’s Purse, and She Rammed Them with Her Car

An 81-year-old woman named Alice Makla drove to a Rite Aid in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, about 30 minutes south of Scranton.  And while she was sitting in her driveway after she got home, two people walked up and started talking to her through her window.

Then one of them reached in and stole her purse with 140 bucks inside.  And they both jumped in their car and took off.  But they chose the wrong 81-year-old to mess with.  Because instead of just calling the cops, Alice started CHASING them, and then RAMMED them with her car.

They still ended up getting away, but police spotted their car parked outside a grocery store nearby.  And there were marks from Alice’s car on it, so they knew it was them.

34-year-old William Hayhurst and 30-year-old Erin Vanmatre are both facing robbery charges, and they’re due back in court later this month.
