Hunting Seminars Jan. 5-6
Cabela’s will offer a series of free predator hunting seminars by various field staff experts Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 5-6, at the Reno store as part of their annual Predator Classic.
Local wildlife biologist, author and an award-winning predator hunter Jack Spencer, Jr., will present two topics on Saturday, one for kids and one for predator hunters. At 11am, Spencer will present Animal Identification for Kids featuring several plaster molds of a variety of wildlife he will talk about plus display some of his animal skins at Conservation Mountain at the back of the store by camping. At 1pm, his attention turns to Track, Scat and Trails – How to ID Predators in the Field in the conference room just past the Big Horn Grill.
Tom Dockter of Hunter’s Specialties will go over Predator Calls and Decoys, A Deadly Combination at 2pm and then discuss Digital Calls for the New Era Predator Hunter at 3pm, both at Conservation Mountain.On Sunday, Western Rivers’ field staffer Joe Blakeslee will conduct Mastering the Art of the Predator Call at noon and Matt Brimmer of Primos’ field staff will conduct All the Right Gear – How to Choose the Best Options for Your Predator Hunting Style at 1pm. Both will take part in the open Q&A forum Successful Predator Hunting at 2pm both at Conservation Mountain. All seminars will take place at Conservation Mountain.
