Cabela's Celebrates Spring Great Outdoor Days

Cabela’s Spring Great Outdoor Days 2013 in Reno will usher in the season with seminars, demonstrations and cooking events for the entire family Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3.
According to the US Fish and Wildlife survey, the number of outdoorsmen who hunt or fish is on the rise.
This year, Cabela’s Spring Great Outdoor Days will feature free, hands-on activities for all ages including:
-Life jacket fitting by the National Safe Boating Council, 9am to 5pm
-Vessel safety checks by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, 10am to 4pm
-Trophy scoring by the Nevada Wildlife Record Book and Boone & Crockett, 10am to 4pm
-Child ID photos and information, 11am to 3pm (Saturday only)
-International Fly Fishing Film Festival, noon and 3pm
In addition, area fishing guide and Cabela’s pro staffer Mike Nielsen will do seminars on how to use sonar units at 11am and teach you how to build your own lures at 1pm both days. Members of the Truckee River Fly Fishers will teach folks how to tie flies for both beginners and advanced fly tiers and SportDog’s Gregg Tanner will conduct seminars on proper nutrition for your sporting dog and discuss electronic collars and how to use them in training your sporting dog.
Conservation partners, state and federal land and game agencies as well as expert manufacturers’ representatives will also be in-store to hand out information, answer questions and help customers.
