“Grace and Frankie” star Lily Tomlin joined comedian Kathy Griffin at a block party celebration to help launch Los Angeles LGBT Center’s new campus.
DC Comics “Shazam!” opened in first place at the box office this weekend. The film earned $53.5 million over the weekend, above analyst predictions of $40 million to $45 million, plus $3 million in advanced screenings for a cumulative $56.8 million. Internationally, the film earned $102 million for a global gross of $158.8 million.
Adam Sandler, who got his start on “Saturday Night Live” as a writer and cast member, is returning to the show to host it for the first time. NBC announced Friday that Sandler is schedule to host on May 4 and will be accompanied by musical guest Shawn Mendes. “We are happy to welcome Adam back to ‘SNL’ in what is sure to be a special night,” executive producer Lorne Michaels said in a statement Friday.
Netflix price increases, announced earlier this year, will begin starting next month. According to a report from CNN, Netflix is sending emails to all their subscribers announcing Netflix prices are going up in the next 30 days.
Streaming service Netflix announced that the Ricky Gervais-created comedy-drama series “After Life” will return next year for a six-episode second season. Gervais created the series, and wrote and directed each episode in Season 1. On “After Life” he portrays a widower who contemplates suicide before deciding to live long enough to punish the world for his wife’s cancer-related death.
